About the Author
Dwight Lyman Moody was a predominant evangelist, author, and publisher. Raised on a farm in Massachusetts, he moved first to Boston, where he converted to evangelical Christianity in 1856, and then to Chicago, where he prospered in business. He gave up business in 1860 and engaged in missionary work with the YMCA (186173). He founded Moody Church and preached in the slums, emphasizing literal interpretation of the Bible and the need to prepare for the Second Coming. In 1870 he teamed up with the hymn writer Ira D. Sankey (18401908), and they began a series of highly popular revival tours in Britain and the U.S. Moody founded the Northfield School (1879), the Mount Hermon School (1881), and the Chicago Bible Institute (1889; now the Moody Bible Institute).

Encouraging/ Enlivening to the Max

As always, D.L.Moody manages to succinctly and effectively communicate the heart of God to the reader. Much like Jesus did when teaching with parables, Moody utilizes the tangible realm and true human stories, to bring light to the urgency of the hour, the reality of the Savior and the beauty that can be found in a personal relationship with God. This has become one of my favorite books. Each time I read it, the deeper my understanding becomes as to the true nature of the living God. Moody possessed the ability to speak truth and encouragement to stir humanity and Christians to action. I highly recommend this book. Whether you are a believer or just beginning to acknowledge the possibilty of God truly existing, this is a wonderful asset. Be blessed!

A book worthy of my time to read---

I expected this book to have chapters like other books but it was a book of 1-3 page short stories from his long ministry. I enjoyed the book more this way than if it had been long chapters. It kept me wanting to read just a little more before putting it down. That's what a good book should be able to do. Even if I had just a few minutes to read, I could read a few short stories and continue later.

Dwight L. Moody was a very credible evangelist and he had an obligation to record things that he learned throughout his ministry so that readers over 100 years later could benefit from his ministry too. Action filled----you bet it was. Read it and you will see too.

Although the vendor refunded my money when I protested that this book was illegible, it never should have been offered for sale in the first place. Every single page was of such bad photocopy quality that I was appalled.

This is a great book for genealogists, but not in this format. So many OCR errors, it's unreadable. Look for it on line. Google's version in much better. Sorry Amazon, but it's true.

Clarity on what various symbolisms represent in dreams and visions

There are many today in the body of Christ that regularly have dreams but do not know how to interpret them or feel there is not a lot of value a dream holds. Minister and author Segun Olumide has a mandate from the Lord to align the church with God's purpose, and in doing so has compiled this book to help us better understand the meaning of dreams and visions. He shares that we should pray for the ability to interpret dreams and study symbolism in the Scriptures.

This book will identify what some symbols and their meanings represent, along with colors and numbers also depicted in dreams and Scripture. A person, object, or place could have either a literal or symbolic meaning so author Olumide states that you need to listen to the Spirit of God to lead you into all truth. He will present case examples of dreams and how they are interpreted based on the symbolism of the Bible. At the end of the book is the sinners prayer beneficial to those needing Christ.

It did not explain anything I was looking for....I truly believe in God ,his gifts, and the Bible. I believe I have a gift from God..I am just trying to understand and use it more to help people. This book did not explain any of that to me. I did not find anything pertaining to my dreams.

As a die hard republican this was a terrific book. Never really knew what Kennedy did in the South Pacific. A whole new appreciation of the man. Still many flaws in the man but well told. Detective Maggie Savage is the complex, appealing heroine of "Darkness
First" --the third and best of three suspense novels by James Hayman, all
set in Maine. While the first two unfold mostly in Portland and feature Maggie's
partner, Mike McCabe, this latest thriller takes Maggie home to Machiasport,
"down East," where sunlight and darkness come first.
The story begins with a gripping prologue which gives us a frightening glimpse
of the villain of the piece: drug runner, murderer, sadist, cool and clever. His
name is Connor Riordan --only it's not.
In this beautifully written, skillfully planned book, the people --Maggie, her
colleagues, her family, her friends, her enemies-- are as well-drawn and
interesting as the plot. "Darkness First" is more than a crime novel; it's an
intelligent, descriptive narrative that, like all real literature, creates its own
engrossing world.

Finished this one quickly!

Although initially put off by the brutality of the central murder in this thriller/mystery, I was quickly drawn into the warmth and intriguing, realistic relationships among the book's investigating protagonist, Maggie Savage, and her friends, family and law enforcement partners. I'll read more of Hayman's books just to spend time with Maggie Savage, a thirty-something Maine police detective who is both strong and vulnerable, and whose relationships are compelling but complicated - enough to make me want to read future books. Her partner Michael McCabe makes an appealing appearance in this book, and intrigued me enough to order Hayman's first two books in which McCabe figures prominently (The Cutting and The Chill of Night). The police investigative details were woven in smoothly with action, narration and ongoing character development, so that I never felt this book was strictly a police procedural (although those details felt realistic and accurate); instead, I read on first, because of the characters and their interactions, and second, because of the well-paced action. The book's climactic scenes were so well written that I found both my fists and breath clenched despite myself. And the Maine setting lingered in my mind for days.

Smooth and relaxed read

The story line is very well-organized. Even though it is the third book in the series, it is a perfect stand alone. The fact that the characters have history together isn’t disturbing in any way.

It is a nice read, that follows a beaten path, it’s not too difficult to see where the story is heading as it holds few surprises. Overall a smooth and relaxed read that thriller lovers will like.

Good, short mystery..perfect for bedtime read. The story led you to believe in several different suspects. The ending was a surprise. I didn't see that one coming.

I received a free kindle copy of Virtually Scared To Death (Julia Blake Cozy Mystery Book 1) by Gillian Larkin from Amazon for fair review. I gave it four stars.

Julia Blake runs her own cleaning service. One of her clients, Mark Castle is a video game designer. He shares the one he's working on with her to see whether she liked it. Before she receives it, she found Mark lying on the floor dead with an awful expression on his face. The week prior he had asked her if she'd ever seen or heard ghosts.

As a friend as well as a cleaning lady, she wants to help find out what happened to Mark. One of the investigators suspects her because she had ready access to his apartment. Will she be arrested? Can she solve what they now know was a murder? Can she solve it before the murderer attempts to kill her?

This is a short one, but it did keep my attention. That's why it received four stars.

What makes a writer (or in this case, writers) write SO EXCEPTIONALLY?? Christina Lauren are an incredibly exceptional writing team. Their stories are beautiful, poignant, hilarious, thoughtful, meaningful, cute, awesome, just every great thing a story should be. I recognize that I am fairly easy to please when it comes to this genre. But, that being said, I am able to know a well crafted story when I read one. I'm about to begin Book 5 of this Beautiful series and I can hardly wait to dive in. I know I'm in store for a really great story that is well written. Come on, give them a try!! You'll be VERY glad you did!!!!
