Engaging Book, compelling story - excellent read!

The NPC has one of the most unique - and possibly realistic - views on the future of society that I have ever read. As a fan of science fiction, reading about the earth-to-be is a common occurrence. In The NPC, you feel as if you could be there, which makes it much easier to connect with the characters - even with all the advanced technology. Even this advanced technology is something you can relate to, as it incorporates many elements of our daily lives! The main character is hilarious, and you really root for him! The book is funny, witty, and very exciting - making it a pleasure to read overall. My only complaint is that it's not longer.
The way the book ends - without giving away any spoilers - will make you want to read a sequel as soon as possible.
You will not be disappointed with this book. Even if you prefer games to books, it's something that you will love. And if you already love books, then this will just be another one that you will want to read, and then re-read.

Great Story - Unlike anything else out there!

I'm very selective about what I read because I don't have a lot of time. I've already read this book, but downloaded it to my phone so that I could read it again in my spare time, which says a lot about the book. The writing style makes it easy to read -- more like you're hearing a story from one of your friends, than reading a novel. Except the story they're telling takes place in the future. Where there are cool gadgets. And cool fight sequences. And even cooler characters - you want them to succeed. From the very first chapter, you will be totally engrossed in the plot, which will constantly make you wonder what is going to happen next. It's a great story that won't disappoint you, because it's unlike anything else out there!

The protagonist is tell us about like as he sees it

I found this book to entertaining and thought provoking. Realizing that it takes place in the future it raised some questions as to how the scientist and the governments were able to change all the religions of the world into one. It does make one think about how social change can occur, and what possible consequences might arise. Which I think was part of the authors intent.
As for the story, it is a well written, interesting and fast paced novel. The protagonist is tell us about like as he sees it. Mainly, one of escape, as many people stay hooked up to the game that they are playing. But, Raythen, the protagonist has lived life outside of the computer generated world. He had been in the military and was in a successful rescue during a disaster. So, one see how he enjoys the work that he has chosen as a NPC. The games that require a knowledge of military understanding, was one of his
abilities that was in demand.
The characters are believable, the story is fast paced and it is a quick read: as you will not want to stop reading. I know as 3 am is not a good time to get some sleep.
