not all families are the same- an important message for kids nowadays

It is nice to read about a different sort of a family- like in this book- a family made of a daughter and a mother.
Some of the children in our kids' kindergarten come from single parent families. Reading this book with the kids can help them with some of the questions they may have about single parent families.It can assist them with relating better to kids who come from such families and understanding that their family is just as loving as any other family.

She wants to inspire parents to give their children information that is suitable for their age and understanding. This book series aims to empower mothers. She wants to give them the tools to learn how to properly explain to their children certain realities in life and to help mothers raise well-adjusted children. In this book in her series she is joined by illustrator Malgorzata Godziuk who adds considerably to the tenor of the tale.
Megan is a smart and happy little girl who loves spending time with her mom, but she notices that other children her age had something she didn’t have – a daddy. She talks with her mom who explains that some families have both a mommy and daddy while others have just a daddy or just a mommy. Megan’s mommy explains that even though she was by herself she still wanted a child, so she went to the doctor who put Megan in her belly where she grew and grew and when it was time, Megan knocked on her mommy’s belly and was ready to come out. Mommy explains that she immediately loved Megan – and so did her grandparents and her dog and her toys. Megan’s questions are answered and she gives her mommy a big ‘I love you’ hug. With a winning story such as this, a pattern is set for single parents to share with their children. It is a fine gift from Elizabeth Reed. Grady Harp, December 13

Will leave you breathless

I bought this book due to my best friend's recommendation. I was skeptical at first and I honestly had no idea how my daughter would react to this book. This left us both breathless in the sense that storytelling times with this book just brings us so much closer together.
