From the Author
This originally started out as a short story for my Creative Nonfictionclass. Due to a misunderstanding on the time it was due, this story wasnot graded. But I loved what I wrote so much that I posted it as aKindle e-book as an experiment in publishing and to share my experience.
When I first uploaded this "Finding Hurricane Tom," theformatting was a complete mess. I admit I forgot the problems for awhile but when I found some information on how to properly format thesee-books, I reformatted the whole thing and I'm now quite pleased withthe results. After I do some more research on adding pictures in mybooks, I'll re-add the images that I had to remove when I did my recentreformatting.
One thing I do like about Amazon is that they autoupdate our Kindle e-books when an author makes changes. The changes Imade were to catch typos in my book and the reformatting. It is the same story as before. If anyone finds any problems they can feel free to post them in my "Notes from the Author" thread.
About the Author
I am currently a undergraduate student working on my English major with a writing minor at Oregon State University. I hope to eventually earn myMfA in creative writing. My overall goal is to write books and teachwriting at a 2-4 year college though I now understand that I do havemore options that I may consider.
I have been married to awonderful woman since 2005. Norma has been my inspiration to bettermyself and to finally deal with a horrific childhood. She encourages meto write and I hope to slowly write more books to publish on theKindle--I hope to eventually see some of my books in print.
Itwasn't until I started college that I discovered that I could write. One of my instructors at Clatsop Community College--Dr. Benard "Bernie"Wood--gave me the encouragement I needed to start writing down mystories.
