Fun learning idioms - Interactively!

Drorit Metuki brings us another in her series of `Well Educated Children's Books' with the assistance of the fine illustrations by Malgorzata Godziuk . This time the book is interactive and the use of the Kindle positioning is explained to the young students `right off the bat'!
Danny receives two invitations from two friends - to attend a football game AND to visit Disneyworld - both events on the same day and thus we are introduced to the phrases `two heads are better then one' and because of a disparity in information we learn `a cock and bull story' and `I bet on the wrong horse'. The situation grows worse and Danny cries with his mother who tells him `don't cry over spilled milk' and `a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush'.
The problem of Danny's is resolved and he learns a new phrase - `a friend in need is a friend indeed'. And as an additional bonus to this book there is a practice session and a quiz to explain the real meaning of the seven idioms in the book. Each of Metuki's books retains originality so that children will want to keep learning by having the entire set! But `don't look a gift horse in the mouth...' Grady Harp, July 13

Very nice book

I'm a a teacher and special educator. I work with several children on the spectrum. I'm always looking for new books to help me teach in an interesting way. I found this book very useful and helping. The issues that the story deals with - keeping promises, friendship etc enable me to open conversations with the children and it help them think about it. I found the idea of a quiz at the end of the book charming, it makes children compete who can remember more phrases and they listen attentively when reading the book. Recommended

We loved it!

What a wonderful way to introduce idioms to children.
My kids enjoyed reading the other three books in the series and waited for the new book to come out.
They were surprised to find that it is a bit different to the other books - with rhyming. Surprising and fun.
The children were delighted to discover the interactive quiz at the end of the book and the reading has become even more fun than usual.
I recommend it!
